Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.

BSN completion preferred

Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Dysrhythmia Exam Required

Shift & Scheduling: 13 - 16 week contract. Every other weekend. Every other holiday.

Unit Details: Ratios- 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights, acuity dependent.

Types of Patients on Unit: Cardiac Telemetry, Vascular and Med-Surg. Some Post Cath, Post Pacemakers.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

Lines/Drains/Devices: PICC’s, dialysis catheter’s, PEG tubes,
ostomies, foley’s, chest tubes, NG tubes, tube feeding (Kangaroo
pumps), wound vacs.
Airway: Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, Heated High Flow, High Flow, Nasal cannulas. No ventilators. Drips: Cardizem, Amio, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, and Insulin. PCA pumps for pain management.

Required Skills/Experience: Nurses are required to read/verify telemetry strips once a shift in EPIC.
