Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Travel experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Emergency Department experience is required, with some of it within the last 8 months.

BSN completion preferred

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Additional Details:

ED - TRIAGE

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Shift & Scheduling:

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.

Call Required: Every other weekend and holiday rotation as necessary

RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.

Experience: Must have worked in an ED setting that has at least 45,600 visits per yr (125/day)

RN must triage experience hardstop.

Skills Required: *Triage, IV Starts, Phlebotomy, Isolation Precautions, Ventilated patients, CPAP/BiPAP, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi

Skills Preferred: Previous Charge Experience, Community Hospital Experience

Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 130

Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.
