Travel Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit

Additional Details:

Shift & Scheduling: Will work every other weekend. No on call.

Floating Requirements: Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by

Special Requests: Parking permit required, no cost. Discuss block schedule requests with manager.

Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac IMC or ICU 2 years experience.

-Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Obtain 12 lead EKG.

-Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention skills/experience required.

-Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience required.

-Required IV therapy skills/experience: Accessing ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

-Required Medication Experience: Continuous IV sedation, Emergency medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips.

-CVA/Acute Stroke management experience required.

-Required Respiratory/Thoracic Skills/Experience: Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management.

-Required Professional Topics and Skills: Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Code blue/rapid response.

Unit Details: 20 Beds.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Chest pain, chf, afib, nstemi, dysrhythmia, post cardiac interventions, ablations, cardiogenic shock, syncope, stroke, respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, renal failure, gi bleed. Cardiac cath recovery, chest tube, intubation, code blue.

Previous Employment Requirements: Any Prem or Prn employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler.

References: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Equipment Used on Unit: Temporary pacing, defibrillator, iabp, impella, iv pumps, pca, etco2, ventilator, telemetry
