Patient Ratio: 1/3-4 depending on acuity/staffing
Does RN Need to Know How to Read Tele Strips? Yes
Top Diagnosis/Procedures: • Stroke • Transplant • PD
Does RN Need to Be Able to Titrate Medication? • Drips – Insulin (DKA and GMAT) • Cardizem • Nitro for BP • Heparin • Amio • Pulmonary HTN Drips
Scrub Color (Are They Provided?): Galaxy Blue
Required Skills: • IV insertion • Blood draws • PICC/Central Line management • Dialysis Fistula (We do not access them but the patients may have one) • Obtain 12 lead EKG • CPAP/BiPAP • Ventilators (We take long-term trach vents. This is not the same as a ventilator) • Nitric Oxide • Trach Care • Peritoneal dialysis • Feeding tubes • Continuous bladder irrigation • Wound vac • Neuro Assessment skills
