Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months.

Must have at least 24 months of Step Down Unit experience.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Stepdown - Surgical IMCU

Required Skills/Experience: Must have surgical stepdown experience at a level 1 trauma center, IMCU/Stepdown experience, auto med dispensing, Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Tertiary facility experience.

Required Credentials: BMC does not have telemetry technicians. Candidates are required to take and pass an advanced Dysrhythmia exam after an offer is extended and before accepting. 3 attempts to pass. Passing score is an 80% or the minimum of the angoff score. Will accept a previously completed exam if it's within 1 year of start date. Will also take a tele test day 1 of orientation. Prefer 1 reference from last travel assignment. Supervisor title not accepted.

Types of Patients on Unit: Unit sees post-operative patients requiring intermediate care transferred from PACU or SICU and includes cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients.
