Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 12 months of Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license

36-hour guarantees only (no 48s) – can pick up additional shifts

Travel pairs cannot request the same schedule

Cannot have an employment gap in the past 4+ months.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Experience Requirement: Floating experience does not count toward experience requirement. Correctional facility experience does not count toward experience requirement.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Trauma level I/II of recent hospital experience required.
  • RNs required to titrate drips.

Below is a list of common drips for this ICU. Please make sure traveler has well rounded experience with a variety of critical ICU drips:

  • Vasopressors: Epi, Levophed, Phenylephrine, vasopressin.
  • Inotropes: dopamine, dobutamine, primacor.
  • Antiarrhythmics: amiodarone, Cardizem, esmelol, lidocaine, procainamide.
  • Anti-hypertensives: Clevidipine, labetalol, Cardene, Nipride, nitro.
  • Beta Adrenergic: Isuprel. Sedatives: Ketamine, Precedex, propofol, Versed. Paralytics: Vecuronium, Nimbex, rocuronium.
  • Analgesics: Fentanyl, morphine. Anticoagulants: Aggrastat, tPA, Argatroban, Heparin, Integrilin.
  • Additional: Insulin.

Types of Patients on Unit: Cardiac-open heart, balloon, Impella, tPA, TPE, core staff will do the specialties; keep small head bleeds, post tPa administration-if intervention-flown to Phoenix; Level 3 trauma- keep here. not necessary to have trauma exp=core staff that MUST HAVE vent, sedation, sepsis, pressors , DKA, cardiac, CHF, respiratory.

Unit Details:

  • Beds: 42.
  • Nurse Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 (MedSurg ICU). If no vents/drips 1:3.

Special Requests: Blocks not guaranteed, but try to work with traveler as much as possible to accommodate requests.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shift days in 4 week period required.
  • Holiday Requirements: 2 major holidays required. Only require the holiday (not the eve) if Xmas.

Floating Requirements: Float to other units, only 4 patients instead of 6 patients though.
