Will you accept a first-time traveler Yes, only with 2+ years of experience

Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler

Patient Types: This is a mixed acuity unit meaning there will be Intermediate Care acuity as well as Tele and MedSurg – please ensure traveler understands, Direct admits, ED admits, Post Cath Lab, etc, MI, NSTEMI & STEMI (IABP would go to ICU), CHF, Dysrhythmia management, Pacemaker malfunction, Epicardial pacers, Backup Stroke unit and Medical Overflow, Step down level experience with post cardiac/vascular, post-cardiac cath patients, post open heart surgery, post TAVR, post EP studies, post pacemaker insertion.

Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Skills required: PCU level RN, Experience with Cardiac procedural recovery (CABG/TAVR/post cardiac cath), MI pharmacology, titratable Cardiac/vasoactive gtts (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine) – please request manager approval if traveler does not have this, Heparin gtts, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes management, TNK administration (preferred)

Floating: Primarily to our sister unit, General PCU – as needed, Could also be floated to MS/Tele or ICU to care for PCU level patients, Could be floated within scope of practice and below

Orientation: 2 partial days of education, 12hr shifts on the unit

Weekend rotation: Every other

Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No call

Holiday Expectations: Every other
