Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: The labs perform multiple invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures in the adult population including diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, and IVC filters. All TEEs and Cardioversions are also performed in the department.
We perform TAVRs and MitraClips in conjunction with the hybrid OR.
The most frequent medical diagnoses include Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease.
Special Procedures: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology Laboratory.
Types of Patients on Unit: All adult patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures
Unit/Facility Details: Cath lab is open 24/7 for cardiac emergencies
Suite is located on East Tower 10.
Number of Beds = 2 Cath Labs, 1 Procedure Room, 1 Implant Room, 1 EP Lab. Types of pts = All adult patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures
Shift & Scheduling: Call is required - 6-9 days of call per month; 24-hour on-call
M-F call is from 5:15 pm - 7 am
Weekend call is 24 hours each day.
Block Schedules: No Floating Requirements: Float to Milford Campus as needed
