Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 12 months of Step Down Unit experience.
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license

Additional Details:

BJC policy: Every other weekend required.

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Previous Employment Requirements:

  • Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler.
  • All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months; some ICU exp. or high acuity stepdown required due to the high acuity of this unit.
  • Must have experience in vents, titration of pressors, and insulin drips. Must have been at the bedside within the last 6 months*

  • Titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, art lines, external pacemakers, chest tubes.
