Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 charge/lead references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a New York license

Additional Details:

ICU / SCU - Required

New Universal Care Unit that flexes between intermediate and critical care acuity

Due to the potential for high-acuity patients, the facility is initially seeking critical care-trained nurses

Patient Ratio: Based on acuity

Floating:

Must be comfortable floating to units of different acuity. Ratios will vary accordingly.

Travelers should be prepared to float to Med/Tele during periods of low census

Orientation: Hybrid model in development

Shadowing opportunities on inpatient units

Potential ICU/SCU orientation at Bassett Medical Center to gain comfort with EMR, equipment (e.g., pumps), and workflows

Nurses should be confident in basic medical critical care management and familiar with common drips such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Levophed

This unit is a critical initiative for both AO Fox and the surrounding community

Familiar with PDSA cycles and open to process improvement
