Travel Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience in thoracic, transplant, and vascular or cardiac (score of 3 or above)

Vascular: Aortic Aneurysm repair

Cardiovascular: Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atherectomy, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Femoral Cannulation, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Mitral valve replacement, PDA, Pericardial window, TAVR (Transaortic Valve Replacement), Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD)

General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy

Thoracic: Lobe resection, Mediastinoscopy, Thoracotomy, VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery)

Work Settings: CVOR, General OR, Trauma, level 1 or sim size hospitals

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience

Trauma Level I Experience

Experience with multiple service lines including traumas, transplant, cardiac and PV

Preferred Skills: Vascular: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair

Trauma: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries)

Cardiovascular: MAZE Procedure

Transplant: Heart, Lung

Required Credentials: A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. Traveler will have two attempts to pass. - Passing score of 80% or higher

Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.

Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Shift & Scheduling: Typical shifts are 0640 - 1510 with potential of one 0940 - 1800 once a week.

Manager's preference is 5x8's, but will consider 3x12's

Call Required: Yes

Weekend Requirement: Every 4-5th weekend starting on Friday to Monday morning call  Floating Requirements: The traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete contract.
