Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license

Additional Details:

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Experience: Min 1 year in Acute Care Med Surg setting

Patient Ratios Will staff RNs and LPNs

Patient Types:

Admission Hold Patients: Patients currently in ED with admission and care orders and no immediate medical bed available

Overflow: Medical Observation status when observation unit is full

Discharge Pending Patients: Stretcher patients pending transport, pending DME for safe discharge, pending receipt of indigent medications. All patients will have transport and time arranged prior to transferring to this unit

May also have patients pending dialysis prior to discharge

Will not have: patients requiring IV drips- Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, dobutamine, insulin, or vapothem; inmates, active infections requiring isolation precautions, PACU or MedOps pts

Required:

Must have Basic Med Surg skills

Some cardiac skill would be great

RNs not required to titrate drips

Monday - Friday

Weekend Requirement: The unit is closed on the weekends

Holiday Requirement: Only if they fall during the week

Potential float if the census is low, will float to Med Surg Unit

Dress Code: Scrubs - Caribbean Blue top & bottom or White top & Caribbean Blue bottom or all white top/bottom

Orientation: Typically 3 unless otherwise indicated
