Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 12 months of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience within the past 3 years.

Trauma Level 3 experience is preferred from any number of months

3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license

Nurse Only: PCU roles require both a PCU & ICU skills checklist with application.

Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Start Date: Weekly, Wednesday starts. Length of assignment: 8-13

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

Common Diagnosis/Treatment: DKA, Trauma, bronchitis, appendicitis, cellulitis, pancreatitis, osteomyelitis, diabetes, RSV, COVID-19, dehydration, fever, Kawasaki disease, Chron's, BRUE, flu, tonsillectomy,

Special Procedures: CVL care, Trach care, GT care, ventilator care, intubated patients, IV medication drips and titrations.

Unit/Facility Details: 14 beds

Level III Trauma Center; Teaching Facility

Floating Requirements: Pedi and NBICU
