Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.

Travel experience is required from any number of months.

24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required from last 4 years.

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Family Birthing Center (L/D, Mother/Baby)

An interview may not be available prior to offer.

Guaranteed Hours 36

Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Block scheduling is generally not available.

Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Holidays Rotate in with core staff

If placed on call: 30 minute response time

Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. First to float.

Unit: Family Birthing Center - L&D and Mother Baby Ante/Post - all aspects of delivery

2 RNs to -OR for C-section, 1 for mom, 1 for baby. Both RNs circulate. 1 OR suite, 1 recovery room.
Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets.
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Term, preterm, some high risk. Also have antepartum population.

**Highly prefers travelers that can work NRP role; "catching baby" - this is very much preferred.

Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.

Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.
