Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Manager may or may not interview. Clinician must be okay with this. If Clinician has questions, please email the AM.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • IV Therapy / Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Work Settings: Cardiac Telemetry, MS/Tele, Telemetry
  • Respiratory: Care of Ventilated Patient, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Tracheostomy care/management
  • Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident)
  • Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management
  • Medications: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips – no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips – no titration,
  • Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry – on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
  • Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions
  • Cardiovascular: Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
  • Genitourinary/Renal: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • IV Therapy / Phlebotomy: Accessing/Managing Ports
  • Work Settings: PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
  • Respiratory: Chest tubes – Emerson/Pleur Evac
  • Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols
  • Cardiovascular: Post Cardiac Angiogram, TR Band

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID

Shift & Scheduling: Day/Night, Call: Every Other Weekend and Holiday rotations as necessary.
