Additional Details:
A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.
RNs Only - All RNs are required to complete a Cardiac Exam during onboarding. RNs are allowed two attempts and must achieve a minimum score of 80% to pass prior to clearance. ICU and ED RNs will also be required to take an on-site test in addition to the online pre-test.
Guaranteed Hours (24/36/40): 36
Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week.
Every other weekend required; Holidays as required by facility
PCU is the only 24/7 acute care unit on the NMC campus that specializes in medical and surgical care and can accommodate up to 36 patients:
- Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring, along with other acute medical needs.
- Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, and backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, and colon resection).
2 years experience; however, will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license.
