Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Shift & Scheduling: Start date: 3-4 weeks out per compliance tier

• Every other weekend required -Is on-call REQ? (Y/N) What is the req? No -Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Required Credentials: Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required

Unit Details: Med/Surg, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Level 1 Trauma Experience

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnoses: come from ED, OR or ICU -Patient Diagnoses: Services on unit: geriatric trauma: 55 yo + with trauma Trauma: Abuse/violence victims, MVA, MVC, Falls Acute Care Surgery: appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, TBI

Wear scrubs. • If you are working a straight night shift: If you are working straight night shift, there is no charge for parking, and you may park in the employee parking (you will receive parking information during orientation). • If you will be working a day/night rotation: you will have to obtain a parking pass for which there is a $70.00 fee per month. The garage that you will be parking in will be Clayton/Taylor Ave location. Bring your license plate number with you on your first day.
