Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room

Additional Details:

BJC policy: Every other weekend required.

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Scrub experience for cardiac , thoracic, and vascular and circulate required

Will consider 1 year if Level 1 trauma Facility

First-timers accepted: Yes Only if More than 2 years experience in a Level 1 Trauma Facility

Is on-call req: Night shift agency staff do not take call.

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes will float within service line

Open to accommodating block schedule: No

Circulate required

Cardiac and Thoracic cases primarily

Vascular (Open and Endovascular Procedures), Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas), Whipples (Pancreatic Procedures),

Start times: 0630, 0800, 0900, 1100....2300; rotating shift times

M-F

Holidays: discussed in advance

Call Required: Yes, Note: 3-4 weekday and 1-2 call shifts per 6 week sched.

Patient Age Groups: Adults

Special Procedures/Unit Details: Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular

RTO must be on the submittal

No RTO the first week of an assignment.

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission

Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler.

All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.

• For orientation: park in the Laclede Garage (4929 Forest Park Ave, St. Louis Mo. 63108) for which there is a $15.00 charge. Pull a parking ticket and take with you. Barnes does not validate or reimburse for the charge. Wear scrubs.
• If you are working a straight night shift: If you are working straight night shift, there is no charge for parking, and you may park in the employee parking (you will receive parking information during orientation).
• If you will be working a day/night rotation: you will have to obtain a parking pass for which there is a $70.00 fee per month. The garage that you will be parking in will be Clayton/Taylor Ave location. Bring your license plate number with you on your first day.
