Additional Details:
Shift & Scheduling: Day/Night rotation. Rotate between: 7 AM-7:30 PM. 11AM -11:30 PM. 3 PM-3:30 AM. Weekend required. 3 of 6 weekends.
Required Skills/Experience: NEED ultrasound guided IV placement and vein finder experience required. Needs to have experience on a pediatric vascular access team. Pediatric VAS experience required. i.e. HemeOnc, ICU. Peds to adult population. IV placement skills required. Image guidance. Vascular Access Devices- Implanted vascular access devices (ports). Insertion procedures and supplies. Peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). Site and vessel selection/evaluation. Vascular Access Device Management - Insertion. Patency assessment. Site assessment. Ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access. Vascular access troubleshooting. Vascular access exp with Ultrasound guided techniques, PICC lines, peripheral IVS. Pediatric vascular access exp required. Must be quick and efficient with IV insertion. Must be able to monitor IVS and make recommendation on type of IVS that should be used. Must learn policies and procedures for BCH.
Types of Patients on Unit: Neonatal/ Pediatric patient. Patients that have veins that cannot be seen or felt.
Equipment Used on Unit: Specialized Ultrasound is used for 75% of IV insertion.
Unit/Facility Details: Magnet, NICU Level III/IV, Trauma Level I. Total Staffed Beds: 485. Day passes are offered for off-site parking at discounted rate and provide shuttle service. Onsite parking for evenings is also at discounted rate. Night shift, parking is free.
Floating Requirements: Float throughout hospital
