Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 12 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.
BSN completion preferred
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
Vaccinations
Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:
VCU has a natural nail policy.
No time off requests during the first week of the contract.

- Level 1 trauma facility

- Every other weekend

- Teaching Hospital Experience

- Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:
- Patient Diagnoses: General Medicine
- Special Procedures: Paracentesis, Thorocentesis
Equipment Used on Unit:
- Lift equipment, Chest PT machine, Bladder scanner, Vein finder, Sonosite for ultrasound IV placement - must have competency to use
Special Requests:
- RTO should be included at the time of submission (will be approved by unit manager on WOC; no other guaranteed time off. No time off will be granted during the first of week of the traveler’s assignment)
Previous Employment Requirements:
- Return Staff Policy: Both travelers and permanent staff must be gone for one year before being eligible to return as a traveler.
