Experience

Must have at least 22 months of Emergency Department experience.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Special requirements: Must be able to charge as needed with very brief orientation shifts. Previous Charge Experience. Skills: Abdominal pain, Asthma, Burns, Epiglottitis, Head injury, Hyperglycemia, Identify/Report neglect or abuse, Infection, Mental/behavioral health conditions, Poison ingestion, Respiratory infection, Seizures, Skin Disorders, Spinal cord injury, Urinary Tract Infection, Chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, Intubation, Care of Ventilated Patient, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pedi, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Phlebotomy, Starting and maintaining IVs, Continuous IV paralytics, Continuous IV sedation, Emergency Medications, IV vasopressors, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Neuro-Trauma, Traumatic Brain injury, Manage / apply splints, Ortho trauma, Acute psychosis, Drug overdose, Managing violent behavior, Psychiatric Hold, Suicidal patient, Gunshot wounds, Traumatic amputation, Isolation Precautions, Triage.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Skills: Near drowning, Sickle cell crisis, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).

Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past. ID: Drivers License/State ID, Government-Issued Photo ID. Cert: ACLS, PALS, BLS - Must be AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or “Heart&Stroke” certification from Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation only.

Unit/Facility Details: Parking Notes: Free in any unrestricted space.

Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission.

Shift & Scheduling: Are weekends required: Yes As needed.

Floating Requirements: Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby your contracted facility. Travelers'refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
