Requirements
Experience
24 months of acute care experience within the past 3 years.
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
Must have at least 24 months of Step Down Unit experience within the past 3 years.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Required Skills/Experience: Must have experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital -Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnoses: Work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to acutely ill surgical and trauma patients in an academic medical and Level 1 Trauma Center. Join a team of remarkable nurses and have the opportunity to care for both general care and IMC level patients in a 26-bed step down unit, where critical thinking and team work is a must. Work in a collaborative environment, where nurses are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team with a strong voice in advocating for quality patient care.

Technology Used on Unit: Note: EPIC exp required. Within past 12 months preferred

Unit/Facility Details: Number of Beds: 26 Pt Ratio - Gen Care (ratio 1:4) IMC (ratio 1:2) -Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.

Shift & Scheduling: Evening/Night, 7:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday. Every other weekend or to meet unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Floating - Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs within the facility. During the traveler’s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
