Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Intermediate Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

Previous Employment Requirements: Any PERM or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler

Required Skills/Experience: Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Telemetry- remote monitoring. Required Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, Sheath Removal, TR band. Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Feeding tube care and management. Required Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure. Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy skills/experience: Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs. Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Manage Vasoactive drips-no titration, PCA, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips. Required Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA. Experience with Surgical drains required. Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management. Required Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous charge experience, Teaching hospital experience, IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Phlebotomy; Respiratory: Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Tracheostomy care/management; Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Cardiac Caths (stents, ablations, watchman, PPM, ICD) CVOR: Receive patients post op and/or from ICU: Video Assisted Thoracoscopy/Thoracotomy (VATS), Hiatal Hernia Repair, Esophagectomy, Endobronchial Valve Placements, Thrombectomy, Vascular Bypass surgeries, Amputations, Carotid Endarterectomy.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Chest Pain; NSTEMI/STEMI; Syncope; Atrial Fibrillation; CHF/Heart Failure; CAD, Aneurysm; COPD; Pneumonia; Carotid Stenosis; PVD/PAD

Equipment Used on Unit: Bipap, Central Telemetry Monitoring, Doppler, Optiflow, Chest Tubes, External Pacing, Central Line, Glucometer, PCA Pumps, Kangaroo Tube Feeding Pumps, IV Pumps, Glucometer, Bladder Scanners, Drips: Cardizem, Nitro, Amio, Lasix, Heparin

Unit/Facility Details: Total Staffed Beds: 562 beds, Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling: 3x12 or 4x12 Nights (1845-0715), Will work every other weekend, Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section, Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift.
