Additional Details:
A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities.
Unit Details: LDRP set up requiring care of Antepartum, Intrapartum, Postpartum patients, stable newborns and stabilization for transport of sick neonates. RN who can take all phases of care from: Triage Antepartum Labor Postpartum Neonatal care. Must be comfortable stabilizing babies Must have fetal monitoring cert This position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
Required Credentials: Graduate of School of Nursing BSN/BA preferred BFHI (Baby-Friendly) Lactation Education required or within 6 months of hire
Required Skills/Experience: One-year labor experience required or completed extended orientation period, up to a year, meeting all expectations for no labor experience. A nurse with no labor experience can be hired by the Perinatal nurse manager based on current preceptor/orientation availability. Gnosis annual assessment of EFM principles within 3 months of hire and on-going
Types of Patients on Unit: Interprets the appropriate life span needs of patients, provides appropriate population based care according to the department skills checklist for identified populations and age groups identified below: Neonate: Birth to 27 days of age Pediatric: 28 days of age to 13th birthday Adult: 13 years of age to 65 years of age Geriatric: >65 years of age No daily direct patient care contact
