Minimum Experience: 2 years preferred and preference to Urology experience
Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
Patient Types: Outpatient Urology Clinic
Common Diagnoses include: Bladder Cancer, hematuria, flank pain, kidney stones, infertility, kidney cysts, kidney/adrenal mass, lower urinary tract symptoms, neurogenic bladder, phimoses, prostate cancer, overactive bladder, testicular mass/pain, prostatitis, UPJ Obstruction, UTI, vasectomy, Prostate biopsy, Fusion biopsy, Cystoscopy, UDS, Axonics, PTNS, Bladder wall thickening, cystocele, dysuria, incontinence, pelvic fullness/pain, urethral stricture, pessary fitting
Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a Board of Nursing
Non-Negotiable skills that traveler must have prior to start - foley catheter insertion/removal/changing, Suprapubic catheter insertion knowledge or willingness to learn, straight cath urine collection.
Ability to act as first assist to physician during in-clinic procedures to include:
-Vasectomies
-Cystoscopies (these can include botox injections where nursing will need to draw up the medication and then will help administer during procedure);
-Cystoscopy with stent removal (nursing will need to clasp the stent through the scope with the provider and assist with the removal)
-Prostate biopsy assist
Other skills needed: Medication injections, wound check, voiding trials, patient triage
Preferred that candidate be comfortable with all the above skills/procedures, however, the clinic is willing to provide training to the right candidate with a willingness to learn and who presents to the clinic as a quick learner
