Travel Nurse (RN) - Telemetry Unit

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

No Blocking Schedules

Previous Charge and Teaching Hospital Experience preferred

Shift: 4x12 or 3x12

Weekend REQ: Will work every other weekend (Fri/Sat for night shift, Sat/Sun for day shift)

On-call REQ: No

Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.

Special Requirements:

• Required Work Setting Experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry.
• Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response
• Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.
• Required Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, TR Band.
• Required Endocrine/Metabolic Case Skills/Experience: IV insulin protocols.
• Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.
• Required Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin Protocols, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips.
• Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Non-invasive airway management.
• Required Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Scrub Color: Any solid color scrubs.

Orientation Hours: 24

Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Daily Census: 25

Patient Diagnoses: Cardiac: Chest pain, Unstable Angina/Angina, STEMI/NSTEMI/Acute MI, Atherosclerosis, CAD, New Afib/Aflutter/SVT, Acute Heart Failure, Hyper/Hypotension.

Pulmonary: COPD exacerbation, Asthma, Acute PE, Pneumothorax

Other: Acute DVT, Migraine, Nausea/Vomiting, Syncope and ED medical overflow if needed for

Special Procedures/Unit:

• Cath lab - Stents, Ablations, Watchman, PPM/ICDs

• CVOR - VATS/Thoracotomies, Hiatal Hernia repairs, Vascular bypass/Thrombectomies/Amputations.
