Requirements
Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Progressive Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license
Certifications
BLS (Required)
NIHSS (Preferred)
ACLS (Preferred)
Vaccinations
Flu vaccination required. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Required Skills/Experience: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Respiratory, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, Nasal Cannula, Neurological/Psychiatric, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Lumbar drains, Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, Gastrointestinal, Feeding tube care and management, Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Work Settings, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Plastics, Surgical drains, Medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Professional Topics and Skills, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Additional Skills, needs 3/4 on most of the neuro skills

Preferred Skills/Experience: Arterial line management*, Care of Ventilated Patient, Conscious Sedation

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID

Shift & Scheduling: Must Be Flexible With Weekend Requirements, Weekend Requirement Will Be Based On Unit Needs. Travelers Must Be Able To Work 50% Of The Weekends In Their Contract.

  • Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract

Floating Requirements: Refusal To Float May End In Termination Of Contract

  • Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
