Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. On-call required.

Required Skills/Experience: First-timers accepted: Yes (Must have at least 3 years exp if first time traveler). Post surgical experience. Ortho experience. Proficient in ortho totals and fractures, Total joint surgeries, neuro surgeries

Floating Requirements: To other MS/Tele floors. Also, Memorial Belleville and Memorial Shiloh

Special Requests: Open to accommodating block schedule: No. RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. No RTO the first week of an assignment.

Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Medical-surgical patients with a variety of nursing needs. Typical patients: diabetics, COPD, Renal, infectious diseases, co-morbidity, vascular, surgical (abdominal, vascular, amputations, etc), extensive wounds, pneumonia, sepsis, bowel surgeries.

Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.
