Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 22 months of PCU Float Pool experience.
Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Medications including heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), managing vasoactive drips (no titration), procedural sedation administration/monitoring; work settings including telemetry, cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown; cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring on the unit, use of rapid response/code teams; endocrine/metabolic care including IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips; gastrointestinal care including feeding tube care/management; genitourinary/renal care including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure; IV therapy/phlebotomy including arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs; neurological/psychiatric care including pre/post neurosurgery; respiratory care including chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), nasal cannula, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care/management; professional knowledge including isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Previous Charge Experience
  • Procedural sedation administration/monitoring.

Required Credentials: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Shift & Scheduling: Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract: Weekend shifts will be assigned according to unit staffing needs

Floating Requirements: Float pool—possibly float to any stepdown/pcu area. potential to float to other campuses (ross heart, brain & spine, dodd)
