Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Shift & Scheduling: Day/Night rotation - 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend; on-call required
Required Skills/Experience: IV Start, Telemetry, Ventilators, Intracranial Pressure Monitoring
Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital experience
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Bedside procedures such as tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), Central Line and arterial line placement, EVD placement.
Equipment Used on Unit: Patients requiring invasive neuromonitoring such as EVD monitoring and ICP monitoring. Mechanically ventilated patients, EEG monitoring.
Types of Patients on Unit: The patient population includes individuals with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and Guillain-Barré syndrome, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients undergoing procedures such as spinal surgery, craniotomies, and cerebrovascular surgery.
Previous Employment Requirements: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more. Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location.
