Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred from any number of months
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license

Additional Details:

If you want to take 4-7 days off, you must be willing to make up that time. You must fulfill the full 13 week contract.

Must have recent experience at a Level One Trauma Facility.

Please note that should you receive an offer for this position, you will have 48 hours to accept/decline.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Required to have IR PACU experience with phase 1 recovery and minimum of 1 year ICU experience
  • Must have experience caring for pediatric patients
  • Cardiac Monitoring, Arterial line management, Dysrhythmia recognition/management, Respiratory, Care of Ventilated Patient, Types of Anesthesia, Conscious Sedation, Pre/Post Op Care of the Patient, Pre/Post IR procedures, Work Settings, Pedi PACU, Phase I PACU, Pediatrics, Neurological, Stroke Scale, Additional Skills, ICU

Preferred Skills/Experience: General, Discharge Instructions, Medication reconciliation, Level I Trauma Center, Management of pediatric patients, Spine surgery

Special Requests: Any RTO should be provided at time of submission to be considered.

Shift & Scheduling:

  • Candidates should expect to work 2-3 of the 4 Summer Holidays (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, and Labor Day).
  • 3-4 late stays required per 6 weeks.
  • Times vary according to the needs of the unit with potential start times of 0600, 0700, and 0800
  • PACU Call Policy:

Response time: 1 hour

Call hours: Weekday call will be 8PM-6AM. Weekends will be divided into 2 shifts- 6AM-6PM or 6PM-6AM. Weekend begins Saturday 6AM and ends Monday morning at 6AM.

Floating requirements: PACU to close at 8PM- any patients left recovering will be transferred to main PACU to complete recovery. The IR PACU call team will follow the patient to main OR PACU. IR PACU team will ONLY be responsible for recovering IR PACU patients in the main PACU.

Call frequency: They are anticipating that everyone will only be on call for 2-3 shifts per schedule period (6 weeks)

Floating Requirements: Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospitals near by

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
