BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.
No medical marijuana cards accepted.
Previous Employment Requirements: Permanent employees at must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler. All Standard Travelers (reside outside of a 75 mile radius) can stay for an 18 month period. Must take a 3 month break after 18 months.
Required Skills/Experience:
• Level 2 SCN.
• Developmental Care, Patient/family teaching, Phlebotomy, Thermoregulation, Neurologic,
• Blood glucose monitoring, Hyperbilirubinemia, Phototherapy,
• Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes,
• Bubble CPAP, Meconium Aspiration, Oxygen Delivery Systems, Respiratory distress syndrome,
•Infectious Disease, Isolation Precautions, Neonatal Sepsis, Medications/Emergency Medications, Patient Types, Neonates > 34 weeks, IV therapy, UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter), UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter), Additional Skills, Community hospital, Level 1 Nursery
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Post partum experience would be great but not required. Pediatric experience would be a bonus but not required.
• APGAR scoring, Assist with lumbar puncture, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, Attend High Risk Deliveries, Mother/Baby, NICU II, Pediatrics, Neonatal Dosage Calculations, Neonates 29-34 weeks
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Level II SCN/NICU. Resp support, UAC/UVC
Types of Patients on Unit: Neonates > 34 weeks, Neonates 29-34 weeks preferred
Unit/Facility Details:
• Beds: 9
• Parking Cost: Employees can park for free in any parking spot that has yellow lines. White-lined spots are for patients and visitors.
• Drivers License/State ID
Shift & Scheduling: Every 3rd weekend. No on call.
Floating Requirements: post partum or pediatrics if the RN has those skills. Float between Progress West/St Peters may be required
