Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have experience Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area (3 or above).
• Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
• Vascular, Aortic Aneurysm repair, Trauma, Cardiovascular, Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atherectomy, Atrial Septal defect repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Femoral Cannulation, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Laparoscopic Cardiac Surgery, Mitral valve replacement, PDA, Pericardial window, TAVR (Transaortic Valve Replacement), Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), General Surgery, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Work Settings, CVOR, General OR, Trauma, Transplant, Thoracic, Lobe resection, Mediastinoscopy, Thoracotomy, VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery), Additional Skills, level 1 or sim size hospitals

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching Hospital Experience, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries), MAZE Procedure, Heart, Lung

Required Credentials: Drivers License/State ID

• Pass/Fail Testing required with strict passing criteria.

A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. The following criteria must be met in two attempts:

Adult Exam:

100% identification of lethal rhythms: Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole

No incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks [1 incorrect answer will cause failure]

Passing score of 80% or higher

Pediatric Exam

Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia

Passing score of 80% or higher

Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt their contract may be cancelled. If the traveler fails the second attempt they will submit a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course to Vaya before a third attempt will be assigned. If the traveler does not pass after three attempts Vaya will notify recruitment of the results. Recruitment will notify the hiring manager that the traveler’s assignment will be cancelled.

Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite

Shift & Scheduling: Day/Evening,12-hr shifts, Monday - Friday Variation. Typical shifts 0630-1900 with a potential of one of those shifts to be 0940-2210. Weekday call and weekend call responsibilities.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float.
