Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 18 months of Vascular Access Team experience.
Trauma Level 1 experience is required from the last 2 years
3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from any number of months in order to be considered for this role

Additional Details:

Recent experience at a level 1 trauma center is required. No block scheduling. Sterile Processing Tech only: Must have experience at a similar sized hospital (minimum 400 bed size) Surgical Technologist only: Must have Level 1 experience or comparable Level 2 experience (in a larger city/large bed size)

𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 & 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴:

Variable shifts Hours are 0700-1930 and 1100-2330, 36 hours per week.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀/𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀/𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁:

The VAS Nurse performs IV starts, phlebotomies, and central line lab draws.

Central line dressing changes, accessing and de-accessing implanted ports is also included in the duties. VAS nurses also treat infiltrations and extravasation. VAS nurses give lidocaine, heparin, alteplase, and hyaluronidase. Not involved in infusions.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀/𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:

Experience with ultrasound-guided IV starts.

𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁:

Cares for patients ranging from newborn to elderly.
