Experience
12 months of role experience is required from last 3 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
24 months of Pediatric Step Down Unit experience is required from last 3 months.
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References

Tele Interpretation, Strong IV experience, chronic complex patients, trach care, NT GT PEG, PICC lines

Specialty: Renal, post-op posterior spinal, medical-surgical, telemetry, chronic-complex care

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4 ((3 if post renal transplant)

Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: General medical-surgical. Chronic complex care patients. Specialties include renal/nephrology, post-operative spinal fusion, telemetry. Medical surgical patients include: asthma, bronchiolitis (NP suction, oxygen delivery from face mask, NC, up to HFNC on pathway), pneumonia, FTT, chronic-complex cerebral palsy/developmental delay (typical chronic complex patient is resident of pediatric skilled nursing facility w CP, developmental delay, impaired mobility, GT fed, admitted for viral illness/dehydration). GI patients with short-gut/Crohn's, overflow medical patients w mental health/SI (post suicide attempt/pharm-ingestion, typical acetadote continuous infusion post tylenol over dose), common post-surgical care patients includ tonsill/aden, appendectomy, GT placement/takedown.

Areas of Float Support: Other General Care/Med-Surg areas: general med-surg, Neuroscience, HemOnc, inpatient rehab, overflow, medical-psychiatric (med-surg unit)

2 orientation shifts with RN

Orientation process: 1 week upon arrival; will schedule EMR class in addition to the 1 week.
