Travel Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Operating Room

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must be able to first scrub (independently) multiple service lines
• Needs CVOR in work history and needs scrub exp in skills checklist - REDIRECT if they are missing any skills that are required (manager stated they need CVOR RNs who can scrub and circulate independently, they do not have capacity to train).
• Will also be needed to function in a circulator role.
• Must have strong cardiac OR competency with ability to be quickly independent after short orientation to Surgeon preferences
• Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), femoral cannulation, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, scrub cardiovascular surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), CVOR, scrub thoracic surgery, lobe resection, lung resection–thoracotomy, mediastinoscopy, thoracotomy, general OR, hybrid OR.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience in endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, ortho, robotic specialties preferred
• Preference to circulator/scrub combo over one or the other.
• Aortic aneurysm repair*, atherectomy*, atrial septal defect repair*, cardiomyoplasty*, laparoscopic cardiac surgery*, PDA*, ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD), cell saver, VATS (video-assisted thoracic surgery)*.

Required Credentials: RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Special Requests:

• RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.
• No RTO the first week of an assignment.

Shift & Scheduling:

• BJC policy: Every other weekend required.
• Cannot guarantee that all work shifts will be consecutive but will try to allow occasional 3 day weekends.
• Weekend REQ: some call
• Is on-call REQ? Call is required. Call shifts are 1715-0630 weeknights (Monday through Friday) and 0630-0630 on weekends (Saturday OR Sunday). Amount of call will vary based on scheduling needs, but has been 4-5 weeknights plus 2-3 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule period.

Floating Requirements: Primary work location is Belleville but may need to float to Shiloh campus. Call will be at Belleville campus only. Between Belleville and East as necessary.
