Experience
24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 24 months of Step Down Unit experience.
3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

An interview may not be available prior to offer.

ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established, however this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance, so clinicians is aware of what location they'll be reporting to.

No block scheduling.

Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

MS/Tele/PCU Float Pool - Required

Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year.

Required Skills/Experience: At least 1 year in PCU setting.

RNs required to titrate drips

Nurses must be able to interpret strips.

Required Credentials: Clinician must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. 80% needed to pass.

Types of Patients on Unit: Geriatric patients, ortho patients, strong cath lab program so post procedural patients, caring for groin sites in stepdown unit. Post MI, post Cardiac Cath. CABG post-op day 3-4

Equipment Used on Unit: RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): CPAP or Bipap at night in MedSurg. BiPAP, CPAP and Heated High flow in PCU

Unit/Facility Details: East Campus is Campus 2. East Campus NextCare is 10 bed double occupancy has ICU and stepdown patients

West campus Stepdown is 14 rooms (double occupancy)

West med tele is 95 beds, divided into 4 areas. MedSurg is broken down into 10-room pods, double occupancy

Patient Ratios: PCU - 1/4, MedSurg Tele 1/5-6.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Scheduler for float pool will make the schedule. Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time. Travelers will need to be flexible. Night shift will try to accommodate for block scheduling

Holiday Requirements: Will include travelers in perm staff rotation

On-Call: No

Orientation: 8 hour day of general hospital orientation, 12 hour shift at West MedTele and 12 hour shift at PCU at West. East campus is similar and smaller, easy to navigate.

Floating Requirements: MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses and would include inpatients holding in ED.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months.
