Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is required from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 charge/lead references from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Illinois license

Special Requirements:

Required Work Setting Experience: Med/Surg.

Required Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Telemetry- remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams.

Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management.

Required IV therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs.

Required Medication Experience: Heparin, Insulin, PCA.

Required Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA, Pre/Post Neuro Surgery, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury. Experience with Surgical drains required.

Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy Management.

Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Continuous Bladder Irrigation experience required

Preferred Skills / Experience: Previous Charge Experience, Teaching Hospital Experience

Preferred Skills: Phlebotomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry -on the unit monitoring, Endocrine /Metabolic, IV insulin protocols, MS/Tele, Telemetry, Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Cardiovascular, Post Angiogram, Post cardiac surgery, Post MI, Genitourinary/Renal, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure

Unit / Facility Details: Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift & Scheduling: Will work every other weekend
