Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
12 months of Emergency Department experience is preferred with some in the last 24 months.
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 36.

Minimal experience? 1 year (can be mix of ED and MedSurg).

Will you accept a first-time traveler? Dependent on interview and fit.

Patient Types: Medical Surgical, Intermediate level, outpatient infusions All diagnosis, to include: Stroke, MI, Trauma.

Patient Ratios: Medical Surgical: 1:4-6.

Required Education: RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Skills required: Medical Surgical Inpatient Care experience, experience with a team nursing approach (Nurse + RT + Imaging).

Charting System: EPIC & Space Lab.

Floating: Within scope of practice and below.

Orientation: (facility and unit) First day orientation: time with manager, Epic/Ilearn training online. 1 shift with preceptor.

Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Entire team works rotating shifts. No set weekends. Self-Scheduling. No call.

Holiday Expectations: will be assigned holidays as needed.

Approval of time off? Done prior to start of contract.

Condition Snow Policy: If called when on shifts they will stay, just as MH caregivers do. They will be paid for all hours incurred during condition snow even if sleeping. If there is notice of impending condition snow, leadership will call all caregivers scheduled to arrive early for their shift.
