Travel Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Weekend Requirement: Will work every other weekend.

On Call: No

Block schedule: Discuss schedule requests with manager.

Special Requirements:

-Required Work Setting Experience: Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry.

-Required Endocrine/Metabolic Skills/Experience: Hyperbilirubinemia, Insulin administration.

-Required Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk, Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), Placement of oral/nasogastric tubes.

-Required IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Peripheral Line Care/Management, Starting and maintaining IVs.

-Required Medications/Emergency Medication Skills/Experience: Pediatric Dosage Calculations.

-Required Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Oral/ nasal Suctioning, Oxygen Delivery Systems.

-Required Professional Topic and Skills: Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions, Wound assessment/care.

Scrub Color: Any solid color.

Parking Cost: Parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation

RTO – we can auto-approve 5 days of non holiday RTO or less. Anything more requires facility approval. Candidate MUST WORK 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital/s near by.

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer.

Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler.
