Travel Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Additional Details:

Previous Employment Requirements: Cannot have worked perm for Nationwide for at least 2 years

Required Skills/Experience: PICU Experience

Experience from a 30 bed or greater PICU

Preferred Skills/Experience: Close to 2 year's experience

2 years experience in a pediatric hospital

Required Skills IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Arterial line management, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, PICC line management, Assist/maintain chest tube, Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, Care of Ventilated Patient, Care/maintenance of acute airway, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Suctioning (ETT, NT), Tracheostomy care, Ventilator Management, Hemodynamic monitoring, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Continuous Sedation, IV vasopressors, Pediatric Dosage Calculations, Isolation Precautions, PICU

Preferred Skills Starting and maintaining IVs, Congenital Heart Disease/Repair, ECMO, Post Cardiac catheterization, Post cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Pediatric CVICU

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:

Patient Diagnoses: Congenital heart disease, Pre and post-surgical, Heart Failure, Heart and Lung transplants, Pulmonary hypertension

Special Procedures:

ECMO- will not be responsible for running ECMO circuit

Mechanical Support (VADs)

CRRT - travelers will not be expected to care for these patients

Ventilators- required

RA lines, Pacemaker wires, chest tubes

Types of Patients on Unit: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Adults, Pediatrics

Unit/Facility Details: 20 Beds

Proof of Identification: Drivers License/State ID

Special Requests: No Block Scheduling

Shift & Scheduling: Every other Weekend

Floating Requirements: Floating is required for most positions.

Will float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS as needed

Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations. Will be given an appropriate assignment in these areas.

Floating is a requirement for most positions and a point of emphasis for Nationwide, travelers must be prepared to float to different units depending on the assignment.
