Travel Nurse (RN) - Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more / Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀/𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience in work history and checklist- 1 year minimum to Screen • MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) • Telemetry monitoring • Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Use of Rapid Response Teams • Feeding tube care and management • Blood product administration • Central line blood draw • Peripheral line care/management • PICC line management • Nasal cannula administration

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program./ References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀/𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀/𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁: • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult) • Amyloidosis • Aplastic Anemia • Chronic Leukemia • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) • Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia • Hodgkin's Lymphoma • Multiple Myeloma • Myelodysplastic Syndrome • Myeloproliferative Disorders • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Special Procedures/Unit Details: • Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells. • Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin. • Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor. • CAR-T Therapy -Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system Bladder Scanner Alaris pumps Stryker beds

Types of Patients on Unit: Mixed acuity PCU and MS unit / Adults, Geriatrics

Special Requests: no block schedule

𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁 & 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: D/n rotating / may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. Schedule: No set schedule, no set weekends, The facility determines the complete schedule, which may include working every weekend. Must be flexible.
