Travel Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Unit

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)/Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department’s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Block Schedules: No

Staffing ratios - goal is 1/4, but can be 1/5

Weekends - variable based on unit needs

Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule

First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor

Oncology experience preferred but not required

Patient Age group: Adults, Geriatrics

Patient Diagnoses • The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following: • Breast Cancer • Lung Cancer • Prostate Cancer • Pancreatic Cancer • Colon Cancer • Esophageal Cancer • Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy

17 James cares for all solid tumor cancers throughout the spectrum of their cancer journey; from new diagnosis, through treatment, and also assisting with transition to end of life care.

Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Cares for patients that have true med surg issues

Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract
