Requirements

Experience

12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

24 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

ADN completion required

3 months of experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license

Guaranteed hours: 36

Float Requirements: Yes, travelers will be the first to float to another acute care unit if there is a need to float.

Weekend requirements: Every other weekend

Holiday requirement: Per leader discretion, potential for July 3, 4 and Labor Day Sunday and Monday

Scrub Colors: Any professional scrubs

Nurses may also care for medical patients with varying diagnoses who are expected to have a shorter hospital stay. The shorter-stay surgical specialties in this department are: General Surgery, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Plastics/Craniofacial, Ophthalmology, and Dental.

Some common diagnosis are: tonsillectomy & Adenoidectomy, appendicitis, extremity fractures, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and umbilical or inguinal hernia.
