Requirements

Experience

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

12 months of Step Down Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.

Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

References

Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from within the past 12 months in order to be considered for this role

Candidates must provide 1 reference from within the past 3 years in order to be considered for this role

License

Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license

Guaranteed Hours: 48

Patient Types / Common Diagnosis: COPD, CHF, Post cath, pacer, ablation, A-Fib RVR, TEE- Cardioversions bedside, PE, Covid, Sepsis, CVA, TIA, STEMI, nonstemi, Hypertensive urgency, head injury, dedicated Chest Pain Center - CP R/O - Stress test

Required:

Must have 1 year PCU experience and experience titrating drips

RNs titrate drips - Common: Heparin, Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Set rate - precedex, Dopamine, Dobutamine

Will consider block schedules, including every weekend, as long as the needs of the unit are met but not a guarantee

Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend

Holiday Requirement: Rotated with perm staff

Floating Requirement: Yes. Would float to Medsurg, ortho, oncology, ICU to take overflow

Dress Code: Scrubs - Pewter Gray

This is a busy face pace unit. Quick turnovers, heavy cardiac, higher acuity patients

Vocera, locator badge, & other unit equipment must be returned at the end of each shift.
