Required Skills/Experience: A minimum of 1 year acute care experience is required to work in acute care facilities. The following are considered acute care facilities: Hospital (General Acute Care as well as Psychiatric, Specialized and Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long Term Acute Care or LTAC), and Ambulatory Care Facilities. IV competency.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Hours: every other weekend. Call Requirements: none.
Floating Requirements: As needed, float to surgical, neuro, intermediate (will take med surg level patients).
Equipment Used on Unit: Equipment: Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, PCA pumps.
Types of patients on Unit: Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: Adult/geriatric medical surgical.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Charge experience.
Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Common Diagnosis/Treatment: COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end of life care/hospice, falls, weakness, sepsis, infection
Required Credentials: Associates or Bachelors in nursing.
