Teaching Hospital Experience - Preferred
Schedule: 3x12 - Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required.
Required:
Strong Pediatric ICU experience and CVICU experience
Cardiac step down and general cardiac experience
Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years
Telemetry:
Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
Passing score of 80% or higher
Attempts: Traveler will have two attempts to pass.
Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems.
Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO.
Floating: Travelers are the first. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
May float out to NICU and general care
Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation if parking onsite
Other transportation options are available: bus, park & ride, private parking, etc.
Pre-Approved Time Off: 2 Requests
Orientation: 36 Hours
Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Infants, Pediatrics
Daily Census: 18
Common Diagnosis: Cardiac, Respiratory, Neuro/Neurosurg, Level 1 trauma center, Transplant (heart, liver, kidney)
Mixed unit with both CVPICU & PICU patients
RTO Requirements: Manager will review/approve during candidate review process.
Generally, all job postings will state that weekend rotations and some holidays will be required.
Inpatient RN travelers must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty they are submitting to.
Orientation Schedule: UWH orientation is held every other week – typically on a Monday
Travelers will orient at 600 Highland Ave, room F8/170 (subject to change)
Orientation is typically about one week.
