4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks, 2 out of 3 major holidays
Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, traveler has 2 attempts., if failed, will be DNU with CS AZ and Sac Region for 6 months
Travel Teams must have their own vehicles
Pass fail exam on day 1 of orientation
Day 1 pass fail SIMs Lab: All RNs will be expected to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes, with the exception of NyICU & ED. NyICU only has to do Foley catheter insertion.
Unit consists of SICU/MICU/Trauma ICU.
Must have experience in 600+ bed teaching facility
RNs required to titrate drips. Common titratable &/or set rate drips.
RNs required to read and interpret their own strips
Floating Requirements: ICU Travelers will be required to float amongst all ICU areas, as well as any MedSurg/Tele units. Also could be asked to float to St. Joseph Westgate campus.
Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts on the floor
MICU - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Sepsis, GI Bleed, DKA, RotaProne Therapy, Heat Stroke, OD (most are intubated and have a sitter when extubated).
SICU - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Recover vented patients from the OR, lung transplants (most transplant cases), liver transplant, kidney transplant, severe back surgeries, whipple.
TICU - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: All Trauma patients, MVAs, GSW, closed head injuries, ortho trauma, etc.
Additional Notes- Bedside Procedures: Bronchs, Trachs, Hemodialysis Cath placements
