Requirements
Experience
18 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is required from any number of months.
36 months of Operating Room experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
Trauma Level 1 experience is required from any number of months
Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 1 manager/supervisor reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
Candidates must provide 1 charge/lead reference from any number of months in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Illinois license

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Shift: 1045-2115 or 1245-2315

Weekend Required: 1 per month

On Call Required: 1/week though it's no usually that often anymore.

Floating: Within skill set-rarely happens

Block schedule: No.

Certifications: CST preferred

Special Requirements:

-Will work with all service lines except CV. G

-General OR and Trauma experience required.

-Required Bariatric Case Experience: Laparoscopic assisted cases.

-Required General Surgery Case Experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple.

-Required Neurology Case Skills/Experience: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion.

-Required Orthopedic Case Skills/Experience: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures.

-Required Plastic Surgery Case Skills/Experience: Free Flap - Microvascular.

-Required Transplant Skills/Experience: Organ donation.

-Required Urology Case Skills/Experience: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy.

-Required Trauma Case Skills/Experience: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries).

-Required Emergency management Skills/Experience: Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia.

-Required Equipment/Instrumentation/Supplies Experience: Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables.

-Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: Administration of blood products, Infection control, Radiation Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Urinary bladder catheterization.

Magnet hospital/facility.

Scrub Color: Provided for this role.

Parking Cost: Parking permit required, no cost. Will fill out form during orientation.

RTO – we can auto-approve 5 days of non holiday RTO or less. Anything more requires facility approval.

Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Background Policy to be noted prior to submission so we can seek approval prior to offer.

Any Perm or PRN employee of Memorial must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler.
