Requirements
Experience
12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.
12 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months.
BSN completion preferred
Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.
References
Candidates must provide 2 references from within the past 2 years in order to be considered for this role
License
Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license

Unit Specific Details:

  • Beds: 10 LDR, 2 triage, 2 OR
  • Patient Population: High acuity; language barriers, substance abuse, chronic conditions affecting pregnancy
  • Equipment: warmer, GE monitor, pulse ox, blood glucose
  • Skill Sets: fetal monitoring or cardiac monitoring
  • *All listed ratios are subject to change based on staffing availability at the facility. Ratios are never guaranteed but are what the unit typically attempts to achieve with normal staffing.

Every other weekend & every other holiday (required)

Occasional float to Mother/Baby possible

Recent OB, ED or critical care experience (preferred)

Need to be comfortable circulating a C-section (no scrub necessary)

Fetal monitoring experience (required, but certification isn't necessary)

  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred if interpreting fetal monitoring)
  • Inpatient OB Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred)
  • Maternal Newborn Nursing Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred)
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Certification - National Certification Corporation (required for critical care transport NICU teams within 2 years of hire)
  • Low Risk Neonatal Nursing Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred)
  • Care of the Extremely Low Birth Weight Neonate Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred)
